I liked this book a lot more than I think I would. The story is a mix of dystopian (a little bit at the start), adventure and of course fantasy. The story is about a girl Aurianna not knowing her real identity or her true powers embark on a journey to save the world and change the future. (I try not to spoil it too much, you can read more on the synopsis)
One of the most vital skills of writing a fantasy book is to be able to explain complex concepts in a way that’s easily comprehended by readers. As a person who experiences brain freeze quite often, I find it easy to catch up on the fantasy aspect of the story. I think the author did a great job of explaining things without being boring.
I quite enjoy the story plot, it is quite unique and keeps you on your toes till the end of the book. Honestly, I can’t wait for the second book because I have SO MANY QUESTIONS. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. I have a bad feeling that something is not right
when she head back but we’ll see.
overall, if you’re a fan of fantasy books I’d definitely recommend this to you!
also, I ship Pharis and Aurianna, please I want more character development between the two of them 🙂
overall rating: ★★★★.5
